Special Olympics European Games Poland 2010

SOGB European games logoPoland Bound - September 2010

We are very proud of two of our athletes who have been chosen to represent Special Olympics GB in the European summer games which take place in Warsaw Poland.

Laura Ferguson, 16, qualified in the national games last year to represent us in Badminton, Laura attends Barbara Priestman 6th form college and is a very popular girl in her group she trains weekly with Steve Blenkinsopp in Saint Aiden’s club, also at Raich Carter Sports Centre, where some of the staff enjoy trying to oust her, but she gives them a hard game and is not used to losing.

Rayment Robson is going to represent GB in ten pin bowling; he also qualified at the national games last year.

Rayment trains with the T to T tenpin bowling club with David Conn at Washington, twice weekly. He attends Oxclose Multipurpose centre one day a week but volunteers there twice weekly where he helps with a disco one evening a week then another evening he helps with the over 55 club so all in all he has a very busy life.

We are of course very proud of Laura and Rayment and wish them the very best of luck in Poland.
